Brittany Sandbergen: PASA
Brittany Sandbergen is the Director of Expanded Learning at Providence After School Alliance. She talked about her role and also about her journey that led her to PASA. She was previously a school teacher and quickly realized that she did not want to be in a traditional classroom setting, which I could relate to. Brittany talked a lot about 21st century funding which was a fairly new term for me and it funds after school and summer learning programs. PASA has tried to implement the middle school model into the high schools but it did not work and she said at least they tried and figured out that it would not work rather than not trying at all. Brittany was positive and I could tell she loves her job and the young people that she works with. It made me excited for my future when working with youth!
